When you create an account, we collect your email address and any username you choose. If you sign in with a third-party provider such as Google, we receive basic account information (such as your email) from that provider. As you use the Site, we collect the content you submit — including anime ratings, rankings, lists, reviews, profile details (such as a bio, location, website, and social links), images and screenshots you upload (such as Top Moments submissions), comments and chatroom or episode-chat posts, direct messages, and anime data you choose to import from services like MyAnimeList. We may also collect basic usage data such as pages visited and features used to help improve the Site.
We use your information to provide and improve YourAnimeRank's features, including your personal rankings, taste profile, anime persona, recommendations, social features, and messaging. Your email is used for account authentication and essential account communication only, and is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not sell your personal data.
Your username and public profile content — which may include your ratings, lists, reviews, anime persona, Top Moments submissions, community posts, and follower and following lists — may be visible to other users and to people browsing profile links, and to appear in the member directory if you opt in. Direct messages are private between you and the recipient(s). Your email address is never displayed publicly.
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted database and storage platform; uploaded images are held in Supabase Storage. We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, but no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
YourAnimeRank uses a small number of cookies and local storage keys. Strictly necessary ones — keeping you signed in, remembering your chosen theme, and remembering your cookie choice itself — are always on, need no consent, and are never used for advertising. Optional analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4) are used only to understand how visitors find and use the Site — for example, which pages are popular and whether a link from search or social media led to a signup. We never run advertising, and Google's ad-related signals (ad storage, ad personalization) are always turned off regardless of your choice.
If you are visiting from the EU, EEA, or UK, analytics cookies are off by default and only turn on if you click Accept on the cookie banner. Elsewhere, analytics defaults to on but you can decline at any time — from the banner on your first visit, or afterward from Settings → Privacy → "Cookies & Analytics". Declining (or later withdrawing consent) stops analytics immediately; nothing collected after that point is retained or backfilled once you change your mind.

We use third-party services including Supabase (database, authentication, and image storage), Cloudflare (hosting and security), and Google (optional sign-in). If you use an import feature, we also retrieve data from the service you choose, such as MyAnimeList, at your request. These services have their own privacy policies and may process your data as part of providing their services to us.
YourAnimeRank is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. You may also update your profile information directly through the Site's settings page. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data, such as the right to access or correct it; contact us to make such a request.
